Meeting Minutes - August 31, 2009
The meeting opened at 7:10 PM.
Those in attendance were:
Tom DiMaggio, Bob Heckman, Sean Tooney, Gail Guertin, Greg Barker, Dr. Rob Robertson (guest)(Prof. UNH)
Treasurer's Report: Balance is $3,458.97
The NHMA website was hacked and the trail data base was deleted. Jaye continues to maintain the website.
The message Board should be up front on the site.
Old Business:
RE: Legislation
NHMA will attempt to get sleddogs qualified as "working dogs" in regard to legislation
Dr. Robertson was in attendance to explain how a Financial Impact Study would be developed through his student base. He did a study for the NH Snowmobilers
in 1997. He has recommended that his students attend the 2009 Trade Fair to pass out and collect the FIS cards. They would be able to have the data on our site the next day.
Dr. Robertson will send a copy of the Snowmobile study to Tom
There is one Board position to be filled.
Gail is working on getting information in the NH Tourism Magazine. This is very
exciting for us as it will spread the word that dogsledding is alive and well in NH!!
The next meeting will be 9/28/09 at Sendaishi Pet Resort, Manchester, NH.
