Meeting Minutes - March 21, 2007
Meeting was called to order @ 7:10PM.
Present: Tom Dimaggio, Josh Stevens, Jan, Greg Barker, Bob Heckman, Jim Lalla, Bob Coburn, Leif Erickson, Rhonda O'Hearn, Joyce Matott, Jennifer Cudispore (GUEST)
OLD BUSINESS:
Legislative Bill 898- Chris Gamache was not favorable to initial amendment- Jim & Chris met to modify
This year's Leg Comm. is made up of more than 50% new legislators. There seems to be some friction between the Trails Bureau and the Comm.
There was lengthy discussion about the Bill. Jennifer Cudispore noted that the Trails Bureau suggested the Bill get killed. Jenn was asked why F &G would testify against- She responded that F& G says it is unenforceable and has no management plan. If the Bill is killed everything will stay exactly the same as now. We would be remiss if we agreed to 7 trails and that would only last for 1 1/2 years.
Chris has permission to issue Special Use Permits.
Jim & Greg suggested we introduce 2 bills next year.
Tom/Jim will talk to Rep. Russell in regard to modifying Bill to eliminate everything but Musher recognition by NHMA. The Board passed a motion to amend the Bill leaving in portions that only refer to becoming a recognized user group. Should this be killed we will start again next legislative session.
NEW BUSINESS:
The May 20th annual Meeting will be at Sendaishi Pet Resort
