Meeting Minutes - July 17, 2006
Meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM
Present: Tom Dimaggio, Bill Matott, Bob Heckman, Keith Bryar, Greg Barker, Josh Stevens, Rhonda O'Hearn, George Cook, Joyce Matott, Jennifer Cudispore (guest from DRED)
Jennifer Cudispore was introduced as the new liason from DRED, replacing Bob Spurls.
Treasurer's Report
Association balance is $2488.60
Bob also reported that the 2007 ATV stickers will be ordered & mailed out to all 2006 sticker holders
OLD BUSINESS:
Baseball Hats
Joyce gave update on baseball hat(s) - Need a better picture of logo- info to be given to Private Label for a quote
Hill Village Parking Lot
The Hill Village parking lot issue was revisited. Keith Bryar explained some of the technicalities of the site work needed. Possibly a very expensive project!
NEW BUSINESS:
The Auburn Bridge: is scheduled for repair and road work as well as parking lot repairs caused by recent flooding
Berlin Project: Advisory committee already chosen- consists of 12 individuals 3 or 4 legislatures, selectman, trail users (not sleddog people) snowmobile club, ATV club and XC ski club. Tom will monitor committee activities
Purchase of land around Jericho Lake has not been finalized
Secretary: Joyce Matott was voted in as NHMA secretary
Hill: We have permisssion from the Army Corps at Hill to clear parking area as long as we finish the project
Blackwater Trail: being worked on 7/21-7/23
State Legislation: Much discussion ensued in regard to State Legislation- George Cook told us that Jay Phinizy will be our prime contact. He would like specifics & rationale- legislative services will provide written legislation- what we want & why
- We need to be seen as a trail user group by the State of NH
- We would like recognition & representation
- Section 508- We need limitation of liability as a user group
- We use the trails +/- 9 months of the year
- History of dogsleding in NH- economic engine, tourist attraction,etc.
- extended trail access- ability to use any trails- would like to use state & club trails/networks
- multi-use permission forms
Next meeting: will be August 21,2006 at 7:00Pm at Sendaishi Pet Resort in Manchester.
