Meeting Minutes - October, 2004

OLD BUSINESS:
Treasurers Report:
Beginning balance: $785.68
Income: $624.96 (memberships and Shirts)
Expenses: $450
(newsletter supplies, payout for premade shirts, trade fair fee, frames for Snomobile club certificates of appreciation.)

Trails and Website:
The trail database on the website has been updated to have a member and non-member area.
Non members will be able to access the list of trails with
access time, parking and other general information. Members
will have access to regularly updated trail conditions with
a password. Passwords will be sent out to all current
2004-2005 members. Dues for this year are due if you have
not updated your membership from last year.
Also, Tom is sending all members names to the government to
be on file as having permission to train dogs with a motorized training rig
on RR beds , certain state parks and corps of engineers
property which is otherwise posted no motorized training rigs. The vehicle
should be registered if a person is going to use it on these
properties.
Trail Maps:
George is still working on format of information - specifically parking areas
Trade Show:
We had good response to our table at the trade show in Manchester.
Tom, Sandy, Leif and Jim manned the table and we really appreciate their efforts.
A few new members were signed up and 5 shirts were sold as well.
Economic Impact Study:
Christine reported that The Ben and Jerry's foundation has turned down our grant proposal.
She has submitted 2 smaller grant proposals to the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and the
New England Grassroots Environmental Fund for consideration.
There was a lot of discussion on how to raise money ourselves for this venture. Tom reported
that he had recently met the president of Blue Seal Feeds who expressed interest in helping to
support us. His contact information was passed on to Christine who has sent him a letter.
It was suggested that we could send a similar letter to other dog food companies and Tom said
that Mary Alice from Eagle offered to sell us a truckload of Eagle at wholesale to resell for a
profit. Keith pointed out that a truckload is approximately 26 tons of food and Bill Barlett
pointed out that it would be difficult to store and manage the sale of that much food. We would
need time to do a serious selling campaign and spring would be a much better time than fall with
out last meeting of the year being next month.
Other ideas for raising money included giving rides for a day. Pete will approach some people
near Waterville Valley that he has done rides for in the past and see what he can find out for
the next meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
NHSA meeting
Snowmobile Certificates of Appreciation are done and have been approved. The Annual meeting
is on the 4th or 5th of December and Tom encouraged all officers to try to attend with him for
the presentation. Keith and Pete agreed to go with Tom.
Next Meeting:
November 15th at 7pm in Concord.
End of Business...meeting was adjourned at 9pm
Respectfully submitted by Christine Richardson, secretary.
